Aims Community College

Project Overview

Welcome Center & Student Commons

At 105,720 SF, the Aims Community College Welcome Center on the Greeley Campus is all-encompassing. The building offers access to student services and includes community meeting areas and student lounges. The building also hosts a 1,600 seat auditorium, 800 capacity ballroom, commercial kitchen, executive conference spaces, and multiple outdoor patios. The Welcome Center was designed and constructed with both student and community input and already serves as a great source of pride for the Aims and Greeley communities.

The 63,315 SF Student Commons provides a meeting place for all student-generated activities. At the Student Commons, Aims students can access study spaces, the campus bookstore, and Arty’s Bistro & Coffee Bar. Between classes, students can hang with friends at the student lounge equipped with game tables and a custom fireplace.

During the construction of both the Welcome Center and Student Commons, the Fransen Pittman team saw the opportunity for direct student involvement. We hired on a handful of students from the Aims Construction Management program to help in the building process, and have retained 3 interns for full-time engineering positions at FP. Talk about full circle!
