Project Overview

Ground-Up New Facility

Aurora Science & Tech (AST) is an Aurora Public Schools charter school currently serving students in grades 6-8, with plans to eventually house grades 6-12. The school is part of the DSST network with a focus on STEM and innovation learning. Located on the Fitzsimmons Innovation Campus, AST students have the unique opportunity to both learn and work on the world class medical campus.

During construction, this site was shared with a separate construction project and contractor. The shared site required our team’s collaboration to navigate delivery routes and maintain ingress/egress. This project also involved joining the new building to the existing Anshutz Medical Campus, creating a seamless transition and allowing AST students access to the facilities.

FP recently completed Phase II of the project, which included an additional 40,000 SF for middle and high school commons space, additional classrooms, an expanded lobby, and flex spaces for future growth.
