Originally built in the 1970s, the Hyland Hills (formerly Carroll Butts) Sports Center is jointly operated by the City of Westminster and the Hyland Hills Park & Recreation District. FP was brought on board to complete a full interior and exterior renovation of the existing facility, which was brought down to its steel frame. In addition to improvements on the existing space, the project included the addition of approximately 17,000 SF of new construction attached to the north side of the building.
The new Hyland Hills Sports Center is a modern recreation facility complete with an indoor walking track, multi-purpose rooms, fitness rooms, indoor basketball and pickleball courts, and easy to access Carroll Butts Park. The Sports Center also houses a new gymnastics center with an elevated spectator seating area, a dance/performance space, lobby, concessions, and support spaces.
