With nearly 1.7 million visitors annually, Douglas County Libraries serve as a community hub. The ever-expanding Town of Castle Rock (now larger than Parker and set to surpass Highlands Ranch in the coming decade), required an updated facility to meet the growing community’s needs. The facility celebrated its grand opening in August of 2023.
In addition to housing DCL’s Archives and Local History, the new Castle Rock Library features amenities similar to other DCL libraries including: drive-thru book returns, study and meeting spaces, an interactive playscape, and lots of room to read! The facility was constructed adjacent to the pre-existing library, which remained open during construction. Once the new library was complete, the old library was demolished.
