Located at 1375 Sherman St., adjacent to the Colorado State Capitol, this project involved a full interior demolition and comprehensive renovation of the historic 1930s building back to its core shell. A significant component of the work included extensive asbestos abatement due to the building’s age. FP replaced all outdated electrical systems, upgraded the remaining plumbing piping, and reconfigured the interior to provide a more efficient layout designed to achieve the highest possible LEED certification level.
The project also included full window replacement, conversion of the building’s steam heat system to high‑efficiency hot water, and targeted repairs to the building’s marble exterior. The basement level—home to the Colorado State Patrol’s Executive Security unit—underwent a complete renovation as part of the overall modernization. The project was successfully completed, preserving the building’s historic character while delivering a high‑performance, future‑ready facility.
