Previously built in 1958, Colorado Academy’s original music building was outgrown by the school. A new 16,604 sq ft building was needed to accommodate the strong demand for instrumental ensembles and larger choirs. Fransen Pittman provided preconstruction and construction services for the new building, which included two expanded classrooms and a choir room with built-in risers for up to 110 students. Built in the center of Stamper Commons, material deliveries, safety and scheduling were a critical part of the project success.
When light hits the stained glass window in the choir room, a visual representation of Beethoven's 5th Symphony emerges.
