Deer Trail’s BEST-funded PK-12 school was designed to obtain CHPS certification. The ground-up project encompasses a two-story structure with vocational technology classrooms and labs; athletics; commons; administration/ main entry; music suite and multi-purpose performance space; and classroom wings. The layout of the school is designed to separate primary school grade level functions from those of the secondary grades, even within shared spaces, such as the commons.
The exterior of the building is designed to blend with the existing community, utilizing materials that are both low maintenance and long lasting. Concrete block, brick and other masonry products comprise the majority of the exterior skin, with metal panel at higher elevations. The project was delivered on time and on budget.
