The Harbor Light Center provides a safe space for men recovering from addiction or working to prevent a relapse. It offers lodging, meals and services like case management, family reunification, job and life skills training and recreational activities.
The addition/renovation completed by FP utilized a three-story wood frame with a pedestal post-tension slab to provide an extra 120 beds for men. This renovation/addition featured an interior demolition of 20,500 SF; two floors above grade and one below. The new expansion added a common kitchen and dining hall, classrooms and common rooms. Offices and amenities like a barber shop, weight room, library and outdoor garden were also included.
A new circulation “light tower” is the unifying element between old and new, and signifies the Salvation Army’s core mission.
