As part of the Douglas County Libraries family, the Highlands Ranch Library (also known as the James H. La Rue Library) was in need of major renovations to meet the branch’s need for increased space and modern features. In partnership with DCL and OPN architects, the FP team updated every portion of the existing interior space.
The first floor of the library is primarily dedicated to children and families. New features include interactive areas like a playscape and kid’s corner. Throughout the facility, there are dedicated spaces available for tutoring, and library patrons have the ability to borrow not just books, but technology like laptops and iPads. The second floor offers event space accommodating up to 350 guests and features new shade structures overlooking the adjacent Civic Green Park.
