Huron Street Library is triple the size of the 39-year-old branch library it replaced. The building has a cyber café, computer labs, staff offices and work rooms, group study and tutoring areas, and designated spaces for children, teen and adult services. The children’s library offers unique spaces for individual and group activities including computer interaction, craft and play areas, a Western-facing performance space, and a tree house-inspired getaway for solitary reading. Other features include a 75-seat multipurpose room with its own exterior entrance.
This building achieved LEED Gold status.
