SOSC is a one-of-a-kind high-tech facility built to test spacecraft under simulated space conditions. It provides an ultra-stable environment to develop, evaluate, and test precision instruments and navigation systems used in space vehicles. The SOSC was built directly adjacent to the Lockheed Martin research facility on Waterton Canyon’s unique red rock formation. The project was on a fast track 10 month schedule and received LEED-Gold certification.
