Maddox Early Childhood Education Center is Englewood Schools’ most unique facility. Functioning for Englewood preschoolers (ages 3-5), the school is meant to reflect the playfulness of its students with the bird’s eye view imitating that of a dragonfly. Maddox is equipped with four outdoor and two indoor playgrounds, a tricycle track, heated floors, and eight wings to inspire and educate Englewood’s youngest students.
The district was not able to lose their current ECEC space during construction and needed to maintain all scheduled activities. Fransen Pittman built the new facility on the existing school property while Maddox students occupied the old building. Once construction was complete, the old building was demolished, and the outdoor play spaces and playgrounds were completed.
