Located in Denver, Porter Adventist Hospital called upon FP to renovate and expand their emergency department. Understandably, the hospital could not close the emergency department for extended construction, so Fransen Pittman extensively planned and prepared to build next to a live emergency room. We completed construction in phases to allow the department to stay in operation while we built and utilized extensive job site safety and security measures to keep Porter patients safe and unaffected. The Emergency Department was also surrounded by other vital facilities, so Fransen Pittman had to coordinate and maintain public access to major corridors and heavily used elevator banks.
Our renovation included a replacement of the entire first floor mechanical systems and added a glass section to create a new entrance and comfortable waiting area for patients and families.
