Named after the famous astronaut and Boulder resident, Scott Carpenter, this long-time neighborhood staple was in need of an expansion and major renovations. The City of Boulder tasked Fransen Pittman with completing a full renovation of the existing outdoor pool facilities. FP expanded the existing 9,535 square foot, six lane lap pool into a 12,300 square foot, ten lane lap pool. The new lap lanes were lengthened to fifty meters, allowing distance and endurance swimmers to train more efficiently.
Along with expanding the pool, Fransen Pittman added several new features including a leisure pool, two water slides, diving pool, lazy river, and splash pad with space-themed play area. The zero-depth entry leisure pool features a space themed playground. New restrooms, changing areas, and a pool house were also constructed.
