Preparing for Phase 1 of an eventual 3-phased project, Skyline Park will receive a total makeover. The park spans 3 city blocks and is located on Arapahoe St adjacent to 16th Street Mall. Designed by famed modernist landscape architect, Lawrence Halprin, and constructed in 1974, Skyline has long been a Downtown staple. It’s the City and FP’s goal to revitalize the space into a more welcoming destination that equitably brings people together through a mix of unique amenities and events. Phase 1 scope of work includes the installation of a splash pad, ice skating ribbon, small support buildings, stone/concrete paving, landscaping, and rehabilitation of the historic Lawrence Halprin sculpture. The park will meet ADA compliance standards and will be brought up to sidewalk level.
