Rio Tinto Minerals is the world’s largest producer of salt, boron, and talc. They selected Greenwood Village as the location for their new corporate headquarters and laboratories. The project included a complete remodel of a three-story building to accommodate office space and necessary laboratory functions. Three existing mineral analysis labs were consolidated into one area and a new large research lab was added. The construction of Rio Tinto Minerals required the harmonization of distinct research lab space with office/administrative areas. This project was completed on a 14 week highly accelerated schedule while also achieving LEED Silver certification.
