CCSD’s New Mental Health Facility Receives National Acclaim

May 22, 2023
The FP team is honored to be involved in the construction of Cherry Creek School District's Mental Health Day Treatment Facility, Traverse Academy. This revolutionary project is one that places student need at the forefront and will have a positive impact on numerous lives. In partnership with Children’s Hospital Colorado and the CU School of Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry, Cherry Creek School District is constructing a clinical-level day treatment center to support students in grades 4-12. Traverse Academy will allow more students to receive mental and behavioral health care while continuing their education. The facility will offer three levels of support (based on individual student need) and is believed to be the first district-run facility in the nation. The project required the demolition of an existing building and the new construction of a 30,000 SF facility. Traverse Academy is slated to open for the 2023-2024 school year.
