Strasburg Elementary Addition Kicks Off

October 07, 2021

After years of educating in inadequate spaces and walking elementary students to the high school gym, Strasburg Elementary is getting a much-needed addition. The community of Strasburg is expanding, and it has quickly outgrown its dated elementary school. This addition will add a classroom wing, gym, and a new playground to provide students with the extra room and facilities to learn and grow. On October 1st students and district staff came together to officially break ground on the project. Each grade lined up in their honorary FP hard hats to listen to remarks by the district superintendent Monica Johnson. Beginning with a powerful message on the commitment of the community to passing the bond, she touched on how important it is to invest in our education and that of the community. This project will impact generations to come and is the first update to the district since the addition of the middle school. The students were all attentive as they listened to the ceremony. Each emphatically raised their hands when Ms. Johnson asked which of them had parents and grandparents as she described to them her thanks for their commitment to the school in passing the bond measure. The students were thrilled to learn they would be getting a new classroom wing, which was quickly overshadowed by their excitement to learn that the project also includes a gym and new playground. After the district members had flung their shovels of dirt, FP team members along with students took up the shovels to continue the ceremony. As a Friday treat, the event ended with each student picking out a piece of candy. We are honored to be teamed with Diversified Consulting Solutions and RTA Architects to bring the Strasburg School District’s vision to life. We couldn’t agree more that education is worth investing in and we look forward to seeing students enjoying their new facilities.
